According to Mike Drago's article in The Dallas Morning News, Texas could be suffering from this drought a lot longer than we expected too.
"A weather expert at Texas A&M says this blasted drought isn't anywhere close to over. In fact, it could be us until 2020, or longer.? The weatherman, state climatologist John Nielsen-Gammon, says a new La Nina (an area of unusually cold ocean temperatures) has developed in the central Pacific over the past several weeks. We can thank another La Nina for the record stretch we're in now."
