How Interior Floor Levels Are Adjusted with Pier and Beam Foundations

Last updated 3 years ago

Houses with pier and beam foundations are extremely common in Texas. In a house that is built on a pier and beam foundation, the floors rest on wooden beams. These beams, in turn, are braced by supports—which can be made of pre-made concrete blocks, poured concrete, or wood. If you need to adjust the level of a floor because of a shifting foundation, you may need to replace rotten wood, replace supports or simply replace or add additional steel shims.  Occasionally, the structure will need to be excavated to provide necessary access.

When your home’s foundation is in need of professional repair, you can rely on the skilled team at Structured Foundation Repairs. Our team is insured and bonded for your protection, and we offer free evaluations for homes in the Dallas and Ft. Worth area.
